RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) – Nearly 14 million make their way to South Dakota each year and Visit Rapid City says those coming in from OUT of the US are on the rise.
“The international travelers, the percentage is increasing of travelers coming to the U.S. They love this area, the national parks, all of th e things Rapid City has to offer as well. It’s just kind of what draws them to that experience of a U.S. vacation,” said Staci Granum, Vice President of Marketing for Visit Rapid City.
“As part of the Travel Promotions Act that was established in about 2010, that was the goal and Brand USA was created with that in mind so that’s our goal to create international tourism in the States,” said Tyler Ham Pong, a travel host with Brand USA.
Bringing their cameras along on the journey, the crew spent about four days in the Black Hills capturing the essence of the vibrant Art Alley and the many monumental attractions of Downtown Rapid City.
“Generally we’re promoting the international tourism because they stay longer and they’ll spend more time here, build some revenue create some jobs and yeah hopefully that will happen,” Miller continued.
“Hopefully after they see this video on www.visittheusa.com or various other social media platforms that Brand USA does, they’ll be enticed to come visit Rapid City and the Black Hills and plan a week long or two-week-long vacation to South Dakota and make sure they spend a lot of time here.”
