Hibernian’s early goal proves only to be false dawn

The visit to Prague in a fortnight looks to be a forlorn journey for Hibernian as three goals in seven minutes near the end of the first half undermined their earlier efforts and put Slavia Praha on the road to a convincing Women’s Champions League last 32, first leg, victory.

The Czech Republic team deserved their win and their European experience allowed them to shrug off an early goal and depart Edinburgh with a place in the last 16 already more or less booked.

Yert Hibs couldn’t have got off to a better start on only their second appearance under the Easter Road floodlights. They went ahead after two minutes through central defender Siobhan Hunter, who made it six goals in three games.
