JAKARTA, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) — The provincial administration of Aceh, Indonesia will carry out an international sail covering three major tourist destinations in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand next year, provincial tourism chief said on Thursday.
The golden triangle regata sail will enroute from Sabang of Indonesia, Phuket of Thailand and Langkawi of Malaysia, head of tourism department of Aceh province Reza Pahlevi said.
The event is expected to promote tourism in the northern tip of Sumatra Island of Indonesia, he said.
“Hope God willing, the golden triangle regata sail, connecting Sabang, Phuket, and Langkawi will be held next year,” he was quoted by Merdeka media as saying in Aceh province.
The local administration has been undertaking preparation for the event to better serve the international participants, said Reza.
“Preparation includes infrastructure, services, promotion. We work hard along with all stake holders here,” he said.
Indonesia is a vast archipelagic nation home to over 17,500 islands.
