Ioniq Hybrids Donated To National Park Service, Hyundai Says

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — Six Ioniq Hybids by Hyundai were donated to the National Parks Service, it was announced on Tuesday by the Fountain Valley, CA automobile manufacturer. Those 2018 vehicles continue the Hyundai‘s commitment to global sustainability and will be used by staff in three national parks.

Two Ioniqs were given to each park—Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia and North Carolina, Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area in California, and National Capital Parks (East) in Washington, D.C. The vehicles were delivered to the parks during the past week and will be put into use immediately.

Our Ioniq Hybrid will deliver fuel-efficient and versatile transportation for the important work that the National Park Service does on a daily basis.”

“In these very large parks with widespread facilities and visitor services areas, these vehicles will improve the ability of park staff to care for these iconic places. The donation also supports our effort to convert our fleet to fuel-efficient vehicles to increase sustainability and reduce costs.”
