There are not many people who can say that at just three-weeks-old they had met more royalty and celebrities than you could count on one hand, but baby Archie certainly can.

He’s of course been introduced to members of his royal family including his great grandmother the Queen, his aunt and uncle the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with his grandfather and heir to the throne Prince Charles and now it’s been reported that he’s had another very famous visitor, tennis legend, Serena Williams.

According to the Daily Mail, Serena Williams, paid a visit to Frogmore Cottage, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reside, with her husband Alexis Ohanian and one-year-old daughter Olympia.

The tennis superstar is said to have visited last week, during a quick stopover on her way to Paris to prepare for the French Open tournament and with the visit so soon after Archie’s birth, people have been speculating that this is a sign she’ll be asked to be one of the royal newborn’s godparents.

Around the same time she uploaded a photo to her Instagram showing her posing in a very regal looking room, which had followers excitedly wondering whether it was taken at Windsor, but it seems more likely that it was taken once she’d arrived at Paris, in the historic Hôtel de la Vaupalière.

Serena and Meghan met for the first time during a Super Bowl party in 2010 and have been close friends ever since.

The 37-year-old was invited to Meghan and Harry’s wedding last year and also attended Meghan’s lavish New York baby shower, where it was later revealed by Tatler magazine that Serena picked up the eye-watering NZD$110,270-a-night bill for the penthouse hotel suite where the celebration had been held.

While it hasn’t been announced when baby Archie’s baptism will be held, according to Hello! it’s likely to be sometime in July, as royal babies typically have their baptisms a few months after their birth.

And going from Princess Charlotte’s christening (her birthday is just four days before Archie’s) whose was in July, it seems like baby Archie’s will follow a similar timeline.
Royal babies are known to have a long list of godparents, and baby Archie’s will no doubt be the same.

Along with Serena Williams, other people tipped to be godparents include Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney, who also flew over to London last week from Canada to visit, along with Soho House creative director Markus Anderson, who is also a long-time friend of the former actress.

According to Express, one of Prince Harry’s closest friends, Tom Inskip, has also visited the new family-of-three and could also be a frontrunner for the role of a godfather, along with George and Amal Clooney and Mark Dyer, equerry to Harry after his mother, Princess Diana’s death.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, was born in the early hours of May 6th at Portland Hospital in London, with his birth announced later that afternoon via the couple’s official Instagram account, Sussex Royal.
Prince Harry also made a brief announcement to the press, visibly excited to the exciting news of the birth of his son.

Two days later Sussexes made their debut as a family-of-three in St George’s Hall at Windsor, just hours before announcing the name they had chosen for their son, revealing they would forego giving him a royal title.
