Samantha Funt serves domestic and international insurance clients in a variety of areas, including commercial litigation, intellectual property rights, premises liability, negligent security, product liability, professional liability, insurer litigation, transportation and employment law. She also is engaged in intellectual property and copyright matters related to the purchase and use of artwork by businesses and related commercial litigation. As a trial attorney, she has represented hundr of clients in cases ranging from misdemeanors to life felonies. Samantha has tried numerous cases to verdict, serving as lead counsel on 15 jury trials, and has litigated constitutional and evidentiary motions in county and circuit courts.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Samantha served as an assistant public defender with the Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s Office, Eleventh Judicial Circuit. During law school, she gained experience in the field of employment litigation while interning with the General Counsel’s Office at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. She also gained federal litigation experience while interning at the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and serving as a judicial intern for the Honorable Patrick Michael Duffy in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. As a student attorney, Samantha represented low-income clients in unemployment compensation appeals and wage-hour claims before the D.C. Office of Administrative Hearings and the D.C. Superior Court.
