Our nation’s capital will have a Wegmans underground, according to the Democrat Chronicle.
Imagine stories of political conflict, FBI investigations and the drama in Washington, and how it can add to your underground grocery shopping experience.
America‘s favorite grocery store announced its plan in May to open a 80,000 square-foot store at the former Fannie Mae headquarters in the Tenleytown neighborhood of northwest Washington D.C.
The store is the first Wegmans in D.C.
According to the Washington Business Journal, the store will be underneath the current building and part of a mixed-use urban village. The store will not be visible from Wisconsin Avenue, but there will be significant signage.
Plans call for condominiums, a hotel, retailers and offices.
